Graham Deaner – Managing Director
I remember growing up on the Central Coast of NSW always feeling like I was different, because of the clothes I liked, the music I listened to and I loved hip hop dancing> Because it was outside the norm I was treated like there was something wrong with me.
At the age of 11 I was sent to boarding school, by the age of 13 the school and I agreed we were not compatible. From there I was placed in a Christian School back on the coast where getting the cane became a competition that I was extremely good at.
By the time I was 15 I had move out of home and relocated to Sydney where life’s true education began. Working and partying in an up market Night Club in Kings Cross & Darling Hurst. I remember one really big night when I was totally wired and this old hippy dude telling a group of us a story that has stuck with me to this day.
The Story
Once upon a time there was this race, a competition where there was over a million competitives, pushing each other off course trying their hardest to get to the finish line! Some competitors fell short injured for others this was fatal; all knowing there could only be one winner. This is a true story and the race began the day your mother and father conceived you.
The moral to this story is that you won that race, so I don’t care who your mother or father is, the fact is you won that race and you were meant to be. You are different and that is OK, because when two people look at the same picture they see different things, so don’t be afraid of thinking that you’re different because that is the greatest gift that you have.
Ever since I slowly began to except myself and take responsibility for my actions. Trust me it took a lot of wrong turns before I got where I am. I know now that all my past experiences made me who I am today and to that I can say I am pretty stoked and look forward to giving back a little bit of happiness into the world I now live.
